چکیده
Glass-ceramic (GC) materials have the formability advantages of glasses and opportunity for controlled crystallization functional ceramic phases. Here, we obtain GCs containing hard magnetic phase Sr-hexaferrite (SrFe12O19) from a borate glass. Ten compositions in B2O3-Fe2O3-SrO system were explored, varying B2O3 Sr/Fe ratio. Compositions forming glass on quenching, according to X-ray diffraction (XRD), subsequently heat treated promote crystallization. Three selected investigated with vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), thermal analysis, electron probe microanalysis (EPMA). Phases identified by XRD after air treatment included α-Fe2O3, Fe3O4, SrB2O4, SrFe12O19. Glasses also crystallized situ VSM an argon environment, measuring properties during heating 650°C at 800°C. In samples SrFe12O19, wasp-waisted loops observed. First order reversal curve (FORC) measurements confirmed low (magnetite) high (Sr-hexaferrite) coercivity Room temperature compared two ex protocols. The microstructures three GC completely different, compositional position diagram appeared influence progress. These results suggest that careful control composition as well protocol including atmosphere is necessary desired Also, was be sensitive phases concentrations not visible XRD.

Investigation of crystallization and sinterability properties of BaO-Al2O3-SiO2 glass-ceramics containing K2O and B2O3
BaO -SiO2-Al2O3 glass ceramics containing K2O and B2O3 were prepared using conventional melting of powered batches, quenching in water and crystallization of sintered glass. XRD patterns introducehexacelsian and celsian as two major crystallized phases in sintered glass-ceramics. Presence of K2O enhances crystallization of hexacelsianin comparison withB2O3.Observations showed sintering temperat...

Transparent glasses in a system of Li2O-MgO-SiO2-Al2O3-Fchemical constituents were prepared by melt quenching method. In the fabrication of nanocrystal glass-ceramics, controlled nucleation and subsequent crystal growth were necessary to avoid loss of transparency. It was therefore important to understand thermal properties and crystallization kinetic...

Abstract:Some types of glass and glass ceramics have a great potential for making bone tissue engineering scaffolds, drug carrier and bone cements as they can bond to host bone, stimulate bone cells toward osteogenesis, and resorb at the same time as the bone is repaired. Calcium phosphate glass ceramics have very attractive properties that allow them to use in bone tissue engineering. Calcium ...
